Building a better-informed society through authentic, insight-driven communication work.

Hello there!

I am Bryan, though my name has evolved over time. Some have called me Barj, others Noy, but what has stuck is Bards — and for good reason. In Celtic cultures, a bard is a professional storyteller who writes and recites epic poetry, music and drama. Sure, I am no Shakespeare or Jaskier from the TV series The Witcher, but I have a way with words and can carry a tune just fine.

Over the years, I have seen the power of writing to promote the public good. And this has become the cornerstone of my communication work: innovative storytelling, with the goal of building a better-informed society, and thus a freer society.

I share a passion for sports, culture, health and current events that impact the nation and the well-being of its people. So most of the work featured on this site centers around these topics. But I am a curious cat, and it would not be long before I add more to this list.

Now, let me share a bit about my background and experience.

I studied journalism at the University of the Philippines Diliman, graduating magna cum laude. At university, I pursued enterprise sports reporting at my college publication and wrote scripts for initiatives on media literacy, press freedom and social justice.

During my internships, I worked with brands like One Championship and Vermosa by Ayala Land, where I leveraged creative and collaborative writing to produce press releases, reports and social media content to enhance brand visibility and audience engagement.

When I am not writing, I enjoy reading, running and serving at my church. These activities require a different dose of commitment but are deeply rewarding. They remind me of how I have not given up on passions despite the demands of work.

That is it for now. If you resonate with authentic, insight-driven communication, let us connect and explore how I can bring value to your team!

The blog title 2 Points Ahead draws inspiration from the table tennis scoring system and the crucial difference two points can make.

In table tennis, victory is determined by the first player to reach 11 points with a lead of at least 2 points. If both players reach 10 points, the game is won by the first player or team to secure a two-point advantage.

This principle applies to other sports as well, where breaking a tie in a set requires earning a two-point lead to win the set and, ultimately, the game.

But what if we applied this idea to communication work? How can you seize those two crucial points to stay ahead in the game?

Here is the answer: authentic and insight-driven communication work. Join us as we tell one story at a time.
